XXXX, Dolomite, or SE

Recommended Posts

I just broke my SE, and I am looking into either a XXXX, Dolomite, or another SE. Can anyone offer me any insight on the XXXX and/or the Dolo to help me decide. I know that the Dolo is a fused 2 piece so what pros/cons does that provide. I have used a XXX-lite and like it alot except for the blade pattern I had, so I can't really compare them. Also I heard that the Dolo blade doesn't go "soft" as easily as other sticks. Is this the same as the XXXX is your opinion? Any help is appreciated.

How long did your easton last? I had three SL's in the summer and I cracked the toes in all of them within a week of using each stick. I switched to a Nike Bauer one90 and it has lasted me two months. I got 3 of them from hockey monkey.com for a really good price. As far as the XXXX goes, my roomate has a XXX which I have used and the feel is a little better but at the cost of durability, the one90 takes a lot more punishment. I guess im just trying to get you to consider the one90 as well because I've had such good luck with it :D.

I love the Dolo, but my XXXX is also pretty good!

tough decision! lol

But with all 3 youll be satisfied!

If you liked your SE, just buy another one!

Had a Pro stock XXXX broke it in less then 2 weeks.. Had a SE sold it, Have a Mac Daddy (had a Dolo) Altho I broke my XXXX I have to say it was pretty sweet, but it's a tough decision between a Dolo/XXXX, the XXXX has a beautiful kick, but didnt get to try it long enough to say whether it was better then the MC/Dolo (but i'd skip on the SE)

I own both the XXXX and Dolomite, but pro stock if that matters. The XXXX is a bit lighter but it feels cheap in quality compared to the Dolomite. Other than the weight, I can't really say anything else in support of the XXXX. I've used my Dolomite for about 1-2 ice times a week in pickup hockey and stick & pucks for almost 2 months now and the blade still feels stiff.

The Dolo was a little bit heavier in the blade than what I was used to (XXX-Lite) but it was fine. If you can get used to it and you're not a weight freak it's a solid stick. I wish I didn't trade mine away

Looking for a one piece only? I love my Dolo Nipple grip 85 flex shaft and XXX Lite blade combo.

The blade has been through hell including being stepped on by skaters on the ice. You can hardly even tell where this happened.

I haven't owned either of these, but I've read a lot about them. People have said the 4X is a "dangler's stick" and not overly durable. The only knock on the dolomite is that some people have said it "loses it pop only after a month or so". Not entirely sure how true either of these criticisms are but keep them in mind.

Personally, I really, really like the RBK 7k pro-lites, but since they aren't made anymore, you have to find them off ebay. They're very light, and surprisingly durable.

I have both the retail Dolomite and the retail Vapor XXXX. The Forty is very durable. I have had it since november and use it about 4 times a week. The blade is still as stiff as it was when I bought it. It is a tad heavier than the Dolomite IMO but it feels like one of the most durable stick made for performance. The Dolomite is a great stick too. The blade will stay stiff through anything. Another stick that I think that you should consider is the Mac daddy. Lighter and as durable as the Dolomite. Had both Dolomite and Mac Daddy since last february and both show no signs of breaking.

I would go with the SE, probably one of the best sticks i have ever used. and if you are looking for something different i would go with the Dolo.

Funny that the old technology is still recommended over the newest availible. Just goes to show how good a product Inno made back in the day. Anyway, I'm going to go with the Dolo as well here. I have used quite a few, and they are the best sticks I've ever used. Last forever and don't get that "dead" feeling. I recently got one of the pro stock dolomite shafts from HM paired with a pro stock Kovalchuk dolo blade, and it is the lightest stick I've used yet. SE's feel dead to me after a few ice times, and haven't yet used a XXXX, assume it's similar to XXX-Lite.

My votes in for the Dolomite. If the SE suited you well, then I'd stay with that.

Been using a Dolo shaft/blade combo since last May, and the shaft is still in great shape. No loss of kick/pop at all. Play 2-3 times a week on average.

Honestly, this guy gets hacked/slashed to hell and back and the stick hardly shows any signs of it.
