Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 I had a gift cert to use at hockeygiant (with my family all still living at home, it's easier than mailing me something) and I saw the CCM Vector Vibe stick on special so I picked up a couple.I know nothing about them. Are they a redecorated something else?Piece of crap or ok for $39.50 (the price they are on special for)I searched for "vibe and stick" but got nothing of substance.Cheers
gxc999 7 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 I read somewhere that it was ok but pretty heavy. Personally, if you want a decent OPS for that price, order the vapor v2, which is also about 550g and heavy as hell but beyond that, a good stick, all things considered. Hooah4 12 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 Saw one when I went to the local SA. Picked it up and it felt like the blade was one of the V20's fused into a shaft. It also had a sticker over the pattern name, "Ovechkin" on a pattern that looked like a Recchi. No way I would pay their(SA) $69.99 for it. Best of luck though. The weight doesn't bother me, if it's durable I'll be happy.I got the thornton curve
Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 When people talk of weight, I still get amazed. What's the typical high end OPS weigh now? About 420-445 grams? (I notice folks have shied away from the 395 grams - guessing due to durability and vibration issues)So, let's say 450 grams. The 550 gram that is "tank like" in weight is roughly 3 ounces heavier? That's 1.5 ounces each hand is supporting. That's 25% of a soda for cripes sake! (cripes added for the family environment flavor)I'm more concerned about balance, durability, and performance. I still love my busch ops (I have a laser that's roughly 500 grams - I think the gold's are 550). Wish they started doing those in a taper with engineered kick points as it'd be the ultimate ops then as durability and puck feel have always been awesome, but I digress.
