Anyone with Shoe Size 7.5 go down to 5.5 skate?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I have small feet.

I have a 7.5 Men's shoe size.

In Bauer I wear a 6.5EE (D fits as well but I like EE).

In CCM I used to go down to a 5.5 skate.

I'm looking at new RBK's and Easton S15 or S11. Looking at some of the sizing suggestions it says I should try a 5.5.

Anyone else with my size ever skate in a 5.5?

I know this puts me into a junior boot. I'm 37 and play rec hockey so the durability argument doesn't matter much to me.

Any related situations appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, my son, who has big feet (size 13 shoe) wears an 11 RBK and Graf skate. The difference would be that you are going into a jr.skate. I guess it would be less stiff?

I think one of my teammates went down from an 8 to a 6 or so, it shouldn't matter, so long as your feet fit the skate.

It wouldn't be unusual at all to go down two sizes from shoe to skate. I go down two and a half. Try them on to make sure. If it fits well, dont be afraid to go to a jr. skate. Save yourself some cash if you fit in the jr skate as well.

I wear a size 13 shoe and wear an 11 skate. When I put them on unlaced my toes touch the end, but when I lace them up my toes come off the toe. I guess I could fit into a 10.5 if I really needed too.

I have the same shoe size...I take a 6.5 EE in the Bauer but tried a 652 CCM Tack in 5.5 E/B it was too snug. A 6 E/B would be a better fit.

You can also get the skate stretched a bit if you don't need much more room. Both length and width.

If your going with Easton S15 I'd drop a size down from shoe size (6.5) and try in W width.

About the same shoe size and I drop to a Jr 5 for CCM. 5.5 for Bauer.

Advantage of jr skates as that they're usually a lot cheaper.
