Intermediate sticks to whippy, senior to stiff

Recommended Posts

I have a bit of a dilemma. I currently use a Easton-Z Bubble shaft 75 flex and it is very whippy and my slap shot has really suffered. However, if I use a senior shaft I have to cut it down about 4' which makes it way to stiff. Any suggestions?

I'm almost the same as you except I love the whippyness of the intermediate sticks. In your case what I would do is buy a senior shaft in a 70 or even a 75 flex so when you cut it down it will be around 80 flex.

Sucks to be us short guys.

RBK/CCM mid flex, Warrior 75, Bauer 77, TPS Whip, Mission 75, various Inno/Warrio shafts in 340, 360, 380 and 400.

There are quite a few sub-85 seniors.

funny thing is, i have a vapor xxx pro stock in 77 flex and I swear its almost as whippy as it was before i cut it down 4-6 inches. If you like the z-bubble, which i do, go for the 85 flex. I think it has just the right amount of flex and is the right height for a guy of my short stature (5'7"). Heck, any easton standard shaft without a butt end is very short for stock length. I can see why mack complains about the ultra lites.

70 flex nipple grip pro dolomite shaft from hockeymonkey. It wasn't on the website but when I called they said they had it. And it will be here in a few days =)
