Is 15 games a typical lifespan for composite blades?

Recommended Posts

My Inno tapered composite blade cracked right down the seam last game so I'll be needing another blade to replace it with. This was my first one so I have no basis for comparison. Just curious if approximately 15 games is about an average lifespan for a composite blade? I play in a non-slap shot league and I'm not terribly hard on my blades - I don't do much mucking around along the boards or in peoples skates.

I haven't been to the LHS to look for a replacement yet but I believe I read a post that said Christian is about the only company that makes tapered wood blades. True or false?

I'm not hard on blades, but I do have toe chipping after that number of games. Pro stock Inno Schneider blades are what I have been using forever. I can't speak for the newer inno stuff, But any inno blade I ever had has chipped in big, scalloped chips.

Same situation: non-slap shot league, don't play centre. My old tapered Inno Robitaille has lasted me much longer than 15 games, probably closer to 30 or 40, and is still remarkably solid.

Depends on the blade. My Mission L-2's lasted about 10 games before starting to chip and go soft, but my Bauer Endure still looks brand new after using it for 8 months.

I've had some composite blades last two weeks and others last six months. The vast majority have held up for a while though.
