Flyweight tapered, or not?

Recommended Posts

I got a mission flyweight many years ago for christmas. On the ebay page it said the shaft was tapered. But i've always had problems with the blade wiggling in the shaft a little. If i put 2 pieces of tape on each side of the hosel, it fits in there super snug. So i got to looking at it today and it looks like a regular blade might fit in the 'tapered' end. Did this shaft come in tapered and regular? Here are some quick pics i took of it.

I've actually got a couple danglers laying around as well. I pretty much was just sticking to my l-2's, and i just ordered one of the cobalt q's. This flyweight hasn't gotten too much use over the years, but it looks like it might stay in the closet a little longer as i don't really have a current use for it.

Well if you don't use it, quite a few people here would be glad to take it off your hands I'm sure. I know a lot of people love those.

what flex are the 12/9's equal to?

Click "flex chart" at the top of the page

Thanks, i didn't even realize those were up there. Learn something new every day, right?

I thought 100 flex sticks were the 'norm'. Is this not true?

That's not even the norm for NHL players. Unfortunately too many people use sticks that are way too stiff for them.

The more people know the more likely they are to go down in flex, this board is probably(*see "is") more "in the know" than any other.

thats funny you say that because since i have joined which hasn't been all that long ive gone down from having a 100 flex which gets cut down quite a bit (im 5'9) to a 85-90 depending on the stick.
