Elbow Pads too big?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I just got a new pair of Elbow pads in which are a medium. Im 5'7", and the elbow pads go all the way down my forearm and touch the wrist opening of my gloves, are these too big? My old ones did the same, and must be I just got used to it, but it wasnt until I was watching a game and noticed the players elbow pads didnt come down nearly as far as mine.

thanks,

Casey

It's purely personal preference. I prefer a smaller elbow pad, it's less protection and coverage but I like the extra arm mobility

That's the way elbow pads used to fit. Now people complain if they're actually protected because it limits their "mobility".

Chadd,

Thats what I thought, a few years back when I started ice hockey I did the measurements and said I need a medium Elbow pad, however just want to check to make sure I did everything correctly as I didnt measure this time and just went with the same size. Back in the street hockey daze the only thing we used were gloves. so I didnt need to worry about equipment. Plus I am kinda in a wierd size for equipment, being 5'7" but having short legs, I have to use a 13" shin guard, 13" gloves, medium elbow pads and medium shoulder pads and pants. My friend is the same height as me, but has 14" shin guards. Hell my wife is 5'4" and would use 14" shin guards, mine being too short. Sucks being small lol. I didnt feel so bad when Randy Murphy played for the Elmira Jackals, I was bigger than him
