Your first love... the curve of your choice

Recommended Posts

When I was younger, I used to take a blow torch to my blades and make my own curves. Now, I use a p92 and, for me, it's the perfect curve.

I'm also really starting to get a feel for the Drury curve although it is entirely different from the p92.

Anyone played a game with the Reebok Crosby curve? I have a wood stick, and its probably the best curve for me, considering the fact i've played with a Sher-Wood Coffey, an Easton Sakic, and a NBH Lindros.

I've strayed occasionally over the years, but I always end up back with my old Modano curve, or something near enough to it.

lately I've been buying lindros p88's in tapered and a standard in sakic. I then curved the snot of them, the sakic resembles a lidstrom with a rounded tow and the p88's are a fuller curve throughout the whole blade, all my shots are zingers now, the ones I formed are the ones I've fallen in love with, retails don't measure up.

P88 is sexy time... to bad there aren't many (if any) clones out there to try out different brands. I did just pick up a Dolomite ProStock - Malkin yesterday that is pretty fricken close.. can't wait to use it tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yzerman... then the Gaborik.. Still love the curve wish I could have an endless supply of the Easton Stealth Grip Gaborik Right 100Flex .

I'm with you. If I could go back in time and stock up on those sticks I would. They broke pretty easily but my wrist shot was the best it's ever been. I could've taken state.

Played a game last night with a Bauer XX P106 (Thanks Saba!) slapped on a Mission Flyweight shaft....The setup was ridonkeylous!!!! I forgot how sick that flyweight shaft is! Pucks were jetting of the blade. And the curve was legit! Great puck feel and just enough toe to rock a toe-pull with ease. I'm hoping to try out a Heatley next week, but so far I'm really liking the P106.

My lhs has quite a few gaborik curves, don't know if they are prostocks or if they are just retails, I was just passing by with my sharpened skates and I saw the name amongst a sea of no namers, could take a closer look next time I'm in there.

here's their website if you are inclined to contact them.

P88. Just got it on a on90 and am hooked. After that, has to be the Coffey hook.

Am I crazy or is it the most obvious move for Bauer to bring back the P88 as a Kane curve? I mean how has this not just slapped them in the face? Its so simple.

I really didn't know much about curves when i started playing.. i just went to canadiantire and picked up random curve, it happened to be the jr shanahan wooden abs blade.

I loved that blade! but unfortunately when i needed it again, it already has been discontinued.

Since then, I've moved onto the P106 Gagne and used that for 1 season. I had a lot of trouble finding P106 blades locally so again I switched curves.

Now I use a Fedorov LIE 4 from Warrior and I'm in love with it. Theres not that many LIE 4 blades either.

Oh man there are Gaborik's there? All I saw was a bunch of Heatleys and Drurys when I went.

Just a heads up, but lie 4 warrior = lie 5 in most others. So the Zetterberg, modano, malkin, etc should be in your range.

hmm, really? I have a nike bauer xvi composite with a malkin curve and when I put it up against the dolomite, the dolomite blade touches more of the floor then the malkin. if i raise the angle on the malkin stick, then it would touch just as much as the dolomite.

Also, i found that there was a LIE 5 fedorov, so is that technically a LIE 6?
