First Hat trick

Had my first hat trick yesterday. I got my third goal with a min left in the game. Should have been the game winner, but 30 seconds later, the other team gets a shot on net. Our goalie freezes it and the linesmen waves it off as a no goal, the ref who is at the red line blows the whistle and calls it a goal. The game ended as a 6 - 6 tie. This is also a playoff game as well, which makes it worse. Needless to say i came out with a five point night, 3 goals 2 assists. I was pretty proud of myself :D

Congrats, but a tie playoff game? What kind of playoff format does your league have?

We have Two game series. The team with the most goals wins the series.

i believe lowest amount of penalty mins or somthing of that sort then a coin toss. In all honesty i think the playoff format sucks. Id like a three game series. Third game for tie breaks.

1. Team with most wins.

2. Team with best record between the tied teams.

3. Team with highest goal ratio using the formula "total goals for divided by total goals for plus total goals against" (GF/(GF + GA) = x

4. Team with fewest penalty minutes accumulated.

5. Single toss of coin.

a coin toss to decide a playoff series!!!??

whats so hard about scheduling 1 extra ice time somewhere and make the series best of 3?

i thought the same thing. If it was my choice id have a three game series, but its not so i guess ill have to deal.

For my playoffs, if it is a tie

you play 10 min....if no goals, it stays a tie, no shoot out

if at the end of the game there is a tie, we go to overtime, then shootout.

Ive never heard of such a system, I would be so pissed the next day if we lost because of a coin toss.

You'd have to have the first four tied though, correct? You realize that the odds of having the first four criteria even between the two teams is roughly one in a million?

in our playoffs, its a 6-point series or best of 5. you play 10 minutes of OT, and if its still tied each team gets a point.
