252 vs 652... old tacks

Recommended Posts

anyone know how different the 252's (left) are from my beat old 652's (right) below? they look pretty much identical, but does anyone know of the feature/spec differences?

I don't think the 252s are anywhere near as stiff. Also, I prefer Tuuk holders over ProLite3...in fact, I think I'd prefer almost anything over the ProLites.

Probably liner, tongue and footbed materials are different. The stitching on the side is different too if that makes a difference.

The older Tacks used to all have the same style and were hard to differentiate. However, if you actually hold or wear them I'm sure you'd notice an immense amount of difference.

I think the OP probably had that TUUKs put on because as I recall they all pretty came with ProLite3.

A little off topic but I loved my Kevlar 752s, all 3 pairs of them...

The 652's have Pro ankle support and carry many of the features of the higher up models including the Pro-Lite blade holder. The 252 is more of a beginners hockey skate, not as stiff as the 652 and is not nearly as durable.

252 is mostly a recreational skate, just with a plastic toe cap and holder, giving it a hockey look. they were my first pair of skates, and they provided almost no support at all.

dammit! i was hoping i'd found a perfect smell-alike for my old skates. thanks for the replies. yes, i did have the tuuks put on after the prolite holder broke... that's actually the 2nd set of tuuks for those boots.

i got new 892's to replace them, but they dont fit me the same way, and i need to replace them.
