My Eagle X70 Gloves Coming Apart

Recommended Posts

I have had my Eagle X70 gloves for 11 months and the inside part of 2 fingers are coming apart. It is hard to tell if they were miss stitched or just came apart for another reason. Please let me know if can have them fixed under warranty or if I need to have them repaired myself.

Thank,

-Ron

Where did you purchase your gloves from?

The stitching on my index finger of my old pair of Eagles came loose after owning them for only 1 week. I took it back to my LHS and they repaired it free of charge.

I purchased them from a LHS and don't think they repair gloves. Let me try them tomorrow and ask. Hope to get this resolved before they are over 1 year old.

Edit For Update-Eagle found my emails in junk folder, actually cared that emails from a home address had been screened that way by their filters-they are looking at correcting that. Eagle went above and beyond what was necessary to right my situation-I truly would have been happy just to get a reply.

Next gloves I buy will be the Pro Stock Eagles.

contact eagle.

Good luck, my emails to sales@eaglehockey.com were ignored-only contact email I saw on eagle site. I sent these 2 emails a month apart without response:

Subject: Dissapointed

I am surprised Eagle did not even bother to reply to my email below. Tossed the gloves, Eagle really needs to address this durability problem-kids coaches & beer league players I speak with need to get more than 1 ½ seasons from equipment.

Subject: Eagle X70 Gloves

Hi,

I have a pair of Black 14” X70 gloves that I absolutely love…..but the palms/fingers are falling apart. This is only the second season for them, I play all summer and coach kids so they do get use- but am surprised the gloves have only lasted 18 months. Is this repairable-if so is there a shop east of Toronto you could recommend? I’m in Whitby and willing to drive an hour or so. Both palms need to be replaced and on one hand 4 fingers have holes.

Maybe it was 18 months, admitting I use gloves a lot TBLFAN....strange Eagle wouldn't reply though. I would have been happy with a recomendation where to have the gloves repaired....didn't ask for a free repair.

Me either, I asked how much it would cost for the work. They just asked me if I was in the US or CAN, gave me a shipping address and a RA number. They're freaking repalming the gloves with MSH2!

I'll PM you in a bit.

I used X70's for a few years too and I always had the same problem with the gussets tearing out too. I used dental floss to repair them every time, on every finger. It wouldn't even be a month before they would tear.

They also responded to my emails quite fast when I emailed them about repairing torn gussets which they did for free...

Are gussets the sides of each finger? Because this is my gloves are torn.

When I had a problem with my eagles they also asked me for a picture of the problem. I thought they did a good quick job of fixing the problem.

I don't want to get your hopes up and have them let you down, but I am almost POSITIVE they will replace/repair those free of charge. The thing they don't cover is normal wear on palms, anything that comes unstitched like that they seem to be pretty cool about.

I initally emailed them on Tuesday night at 10:00pm. Hear back on Wednesday to send photo's of the torn parts of gloves. Sent in photos Wednesday night. Recieved RA # on Thursday morning.

Please help with this request from Eagle: Could you please send me your shipping address and contact phone number as well as SSN or Federal Tax ID for US customs shipping authorization?

I found this on the web: http://www.hortico.com/admin/faq.htm#taxid

Seeing I live in the US and Eagle is located in Canada, I think it is okay to call them and give my SSN.

From pm/emails it seems there are a lot of satisfied Eagle customers, sounds like they look after customers and my experience was the exception not common. To be clear, I just honestly posted I had no reply to emails-guess people should call not email as suggested.

Wasn't trying to knock the gloves or looking for a free repair. I would have offered proof (abdominal surgery) that the gloves went unused for a lot of time I owned them if attempting that. Anyway-didn't mean to offend the ardent Eagle owners here.

Ummm, they didnt ask for any info besides shipping address. They had me ship to the US location. I wonder why they didn't have you do the same.

Just talked to Eagle about repalming my gloves while they have them. My gloves leather palms have been getting very hard and worn. They will install Goat Skin Palms for $22 plus tax. I told them to do it.

To be fair, I have heard from Eagle now. They found our emails in their spam box, not sure why as sent from our home adress not work email. Anyway, I guess the telephone is best to handle warranty claims.

They seem sincere about customer service, sorry my emails fell thru the cracks.

Told ya. ;)

Talked to Eagle today actually, they needed my SS# to ship back my repalmed x50s. They're tossing in the missing padding for my x72's kangaroo pouch. Eagle, as always, has taken good care of me and gone above and beyond.

I just hope the stitching on my left palm(x72) holds up... I'd hate to have to ask them to fix it after they've gone out of their way to take care of my old Eagles.
