kor skate fitting

Recommended Posts

they say CCM 8.5 = KOR 9.5 = sneaker 10.5... thoughts/experiences??? i wear a CCM 8.5-D and size 10.5 running shoes, so is KOR 9.5 a safe assumption? (slightly flat, slightly wide feet). there's a lot of mixed info on sizing of these boots.

also, i cant seem to find info on if it's possible to replace the pitch holders with something else... not that i'm planning to, but if i dont like them i'd like to have the option of switching.

There are many topics on fitting KOR skates...just do a search for Shift and you should come up with some, but based on my experiences with the Shift 1's vs CCM I would say if the CCM 8.5 skates you have fit you properly (basically as tight as possible without pain) then the 9.5 KORs should fit.

Personally, I'd take a 7.5E in CCM Vector Pros and currently wear 8.5 KOR Shift 1's. Now, before the KORS I had a pair of Vector Pros, but I had 8.5D Pros (my foot was too wide for 7.5 or 8D width skates) and my feet weren't touching the end. I made the mistake of picking them up on ebay and using the CCM online sizing guide alone to size them (1/12 - 2 sizes down from shoe size) - I wear 10.5 sneakers and generally 10 dress shoes and sandals. Just make sure the 8.5 CCMs fit you properly - take out the footbed and stand on it. If there's nothing showing then they're likely the correct length. If you have extra space at the end of the footbed you've probably been wearing skates that are too long for you like I did with the Vector Pros. I finally found a pair of 7.5E Vector Pros in store long after I'd sold the ones that were too long and found that those would've been the correct length for me in that skate.

As far as the Pitch holders go I don't see why you wouldn't like them, but if you don't I believe the original Tuuk Custom + holders will line up with the holes on the skates. Mounting other holders where the holes don't match up would range from very difficult to almost impossible and I don't think it would be worth the trouble.

Next problem child...

I'm in Vector Pros as well. My size is a 6.5D...what fits only my left foot correctly...my right foot is about .5 to1 size smaller...should I take the 7 or 7.5..or go custom....? Could I stretch the Kors a little bit?

i read the threads under search "shift", but i found the same problem i'm now seeing above... people seem to say that they wear 2 sizes below their sneaker size, (CCM 3 sizes below sneaker size), but i wear CCM's 2 sizes smaller than my sneaker size, and they fit perfectly.

it's nice to know that the Custom+ will fit... i've been on those forever, so that's reassuring.

what size holder does a kor 9.5d shift 1 take?

That will be a 280.
