I've tried on many skates, now I need some help

Mike, did you throw your head backwards and laugh wickedly when you realized you found your perfect pair? LOL.

When my foot slid in so perfectly I was instantly reminded of the scene in Empire Strikes Back where they had the machine put Vaders helmet on, and you could hear the compressed air squeak out.

I just started laughing and told the guys "I think it's time to fire up the oven" :D

Just wanted to give you guys some follow up...

I was on the ice for the first time yesterday at a skating clinic. The first 30 minutes pretty much had me adjusting, nothing special. After that, things started to really fall into place.

My knees can now bend way past the tip of my skate, and since I can bend that much my stride was better then ever, and my cross overs were light years better then anything I've done to date.

By the end of the clinic I was skating faster, and turning way better then I ever have. The coolest part is that it was my first time on the ice with the Grafs... I'm really excited to see my progress going foward.

I signed up for a Laura Stramm 3 day clinic for next month, that should really help me work out the kinks!

I guess this is sort of related, but how much of a difference is there between the high end Grafs and the cheaper ones like the 609's, the 727's, 709's and 703's in terms of comfort?

the 609 are discontinued with the 727, 503, etc. THe 700 series now have the texalite outsole which will reduce some weight but has a bad liner that water logs..The Supra G series were garbage because as members have stated..The skate was falling apart, outsole cracking, still retained water, etc. That was the first batch indicated but,now i dont know.... if they fix the issue although their discontiuend too.. THe ultra series are top of the line which is essentially the best upgrade from the 700 series. Better liner, stiffer, more support, new design, tongue, lighter, etc.. hope this helps
