Ebay payment problem?

Recommended Posts

Here is an ebay/paypal question. When i pay for something through paypal i get the immediate email "payment complete". Then a week later I get another email that states that "your e-check payment has been processed." Whats the deal.

never had that problem before. Now that i think of it i bet my back up funding needs up dated.

That's what happened to mine (earlier in this thread). My CC was expired, so my Direct Payments became e-checks that get held for 10-12 days.

So if your card expires can you update with paypal on the new card number so the waiting period dosent happen?

Yeah...it's part of your payment options...If it's just a re-newed card, you can edit the exp. date....Obviously, if you want to use a different card, you'd have to erase the one that is there and add the new one.

Non-paying bidders are really annoying, especially if you sell time sensitive things like tickets. People that don't pay are usually new members with very few feedback. I usually send a message to them and if they don't respond, I cancel their bid. My items may sell for a few dollars less but I'm less likely to be dealing with a pain in the ass deadbeat.

I don't understand why eBay doesn't just implement a system where you have to enter your CC/PayPal info before you sign up for an account. Kind of like what you have to do before you're allowed to sell on eBay. When you win an auction, you are automatically billed. People would bid more responsibly knowing that they can't weasel their way out of paying. It would make the new one-way feedback system work as well. Sellers receive payment immediately so they would have nothing to complain about, and buyers can leave honest feedback without fear of retaliation.
