One waxed and one regular lace

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever heard of doing this? I just got a new pair of Mission 95XP and I noticed that my left skate felt a little loose, compared to my right, so I switched to waxed laces and now my right toes are get a little numb during the game. I am thinking about going to a regular lace on the right skate and a waxed lace on my left. Should I try this or maybe bake the just the right skate again?

In my case my right foot is bigger than my left. Not longer or wider, just has more volume. Might be what you're experiencing. I usually wear a thicker sock on my left to make them feel the same.

dont tie your right boot as tight down on your foot. As for your question.... It wouldn't hurt doing it.... it's not like your playing with two different brands of boots on either foot.

beware the dreaded short leg. many people have one foot slightly bigger than the other ( this MAY be due to always shifting your weight on to that foot and sometimes that is due to a short leg ). you may just have one foot larger than the other. in either case a waxed is a good idea for the small foot. if you do indeed have a short leg ( I AM NOT A DR. ) you will want to have your skate shimmed between the holder and the boot. again-- i am not a dr. and if you are unsure it would not hurt to have it checked ( lower back pain is common with a short leg due to pelvic tilt ).
