Well you learn something new everyday, I was under the impression you could mount any frame to any boot as long as the frame was the correct size. With the exception of the Hummer which requires dremmeling. I wish I had a good answer for you, but ill be watching the thread for the solution as well for curiosities sake.

Yea it sucks..the Amps and the vanguard would have been a nice set up...I have a pair of D-limiteds with Red Star Alloys mounted on them, so Im hoping a Vanguard can be mounted on the Pure Fly's since they are based on each other...

I know that I tried mounting an aluminum Generator frame to an original Proto VSI boot a few years ago, and it didn't work out at all. I bought the aftermarket frame off hockeygiant.com and found the boots new on ebay. When I tried to get the frames mounted at my LHS, they didn't seat correctly on either boot. I thought that it was really strange that a Mission boot wouldn't work with a Mission frame from the same generation, but evidently this was the case. Anyways, that was my experience with frame mounting woes.

Btw, I was actually getting ready to mount a set of Vanguards to some Amp Flyweights. I guess I'm going to have to find another set of frames to drop on them...

I was really bummed...I am guessing since the boots are Ice boots and the frames are ment for inline that has something to do with it...I have not looked at the Pure Fly's to see if the vanguards would fit them, but Im not getting my hopes up...I wonder if like a Red Star frame will fit on those Amp Fly's?...I hope I can find something to put on them...Let me know if you find something that fix yours...

A friend of mine had a Hummer mounted to an old AMP series boot (the original black/white mission ice hockey skates). He popped a couple of rivets on it after only skating on them a couple of times, however. I didn't get a chance to check out the mount job on them, but perhaps they didn't work because they also didn't seat properly. Next time I see him I'll check them out.

The curveture of the boot sole on the Amp Flyweight was to much for the vanguard to fit...Have any pics of the Hummers mounted on the Amps or the Pure Flys?

What I'm probably going to do is mount a pair of red Mags on my Flyweights and see how those work for a bit. I've already gone through three other skates with red Mags, so I'm hunting around for another option...maybe a Hum'er, but I don't know at this point.

inlnfn, post a pic of your Hum'er mounted Flyweights. I'm curious to see how it would work out and if you'd need shims or not.

I contacted Mission and the guy I talked too acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, he acted suprised that Mission once had a skate called the Amp Flyweight, much less if the frame would fit on the boot(which I knew it wouldnt) but I was asking about the Pure Fly's or the Fuel 120 AG's...I was really, really disappointed with Missions Customer service today(normally they are more than helpful)Basically Im telling the guy "Hey I have bought 2 of your companies after market frames and 4 pairs of your companies skates" and I get basically from him, "well, I cant help you, your wasting my time"

Now I understand that I am trying to fit an inline frame to an ice boot, 2 diffrent products that were not built to fit together...I just feel like the Customer service blew me off, cause he didnt feel like finding an answer for me...Hey why should he, his company has already gotten my money, his job is done, right?...Sorry just had to blow off some steam....

Im sure everyone from the early mission era is not still there anymore. Remember that.

I understand...But it would have been nice if they were a bit more helpful...I was actully asking about products that are current(the Vanguard and the Fuel skates)...I got, "I'm not sure, have you checked out the Boss skates" What the hell do I wanna pay $500 more bucks to you when you dont wanna help me with the problem Im trying to figure out with the stuff I already own...They must have found this guy at an AMWAY convention or something, all he wanted to do was sell me on the Boss skates...

Im pretty sure the purefly wont match up with the vangaurd. I currently have pureflys with the mission generator carbon from the wicked light and it matched up. But when I took my wicked5's apart I was going to put the vangaurd on the pureflys it didnt look like it would match up. I never did take it to my LHS to see if they could work it out but Im pretty sure it wouldnt. They would have to shim the rear to get the front to mount flush from the looks of it. But my buddy had a chassis from a D3 mounted on a flyweight boot and he had the rear shimmed. The odd thing was I sold him those boots and when I had it I had the old all gold chassis off a proto VI on them and they had no shims.... Doesnt make much sense to me but I hope I helped in some way shape or form

Just thought I would add my two cents here, already filled stock in via pm. I have had sensor, hummer and sprung chassis mounted to s500's and I have a buddy with the mission magnesium chassis mounted to s400's. It doesn't seem to be a problem mounting anything to the pure/S/AG series skates.

That may be the route I have to go, trying to find something in the pure line of skates if I still can...I just like the fit of Mission ice boots better than the inline skates....Thanks for the help guys..

If you like the fit of the Pure line of skates, you will love the new line of roller...The Boss is a combo of an S500/Purefly, L7, and original VSI
