vaultingslinky 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Right, I have had about 4.5-5hrs skate time and just had 2 matches on an ice (sport) court rink. They are now fully broken in (no bake), there is no pain and the fit is spot on I am so pleased. My skating/agility/stopping ability has not only returned to form, I think it has improved./happy customer

Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2008 Hello,I'm thinking of getting a pair of those lieutenant. One question : what about the weight? compared to wicked 1/3 ? compare to my old proto VSI (full fiber glass boot) ?Is it possible to get some more pictures of those lieutenant view from different angles ?I would really appreciate :) Thanks
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 the Lieutenant is going to be closer to the old VSI weight and a little further away from the Wicked line, but the skates are pretty well balanced weightwise and certainly aren't heavy by any means. I have both Boss and Assassins, so I'd imagine the Lieutenant is in the neighborhood of the Assassin weight.Inline Warehouse has a 360 view of the skates, as well as close ups from a couple angles
MikeK 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I have the Lieutenants, and they're noticeably heavier than my old Heliums, but I don't think I've ever noticed the weight of skates on my feet, and these are no different.I had to have them punched out in a couple hot spots after baking them, but they're breaking in really quickly for me, and I have very little discomfort. I'm a big fan so far.
Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 ok thanks guysI wanted real pictures from owner ;) What is the lighest skate mission have ? (wicked light, wicked 1, helium ??)I have no idea.Is there a big gap between the Boss and the lieutenant in term of weight? :( As I'm gonna use them for transportation (no hockey use at all :P I know it snouds weird) the lightest it will be in my bag the best it is for me
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 the lightest I can recall is either the uber hard to find original Wicked Light, or the HE950 from a few yrs ago. The HE950 has the DNA eyelets that tore out as well as boot creasing issues, and thus was not a great success. The HE10000 and Wicked 1 are both pretty light as well, and I loved my old HE10000.For current products out there, the Cobalt Q from Tour is pretty light, lighter than Mission or RBK. I've been seeing Tour boots that while fantastic out of the box have the internal padding and side paneling break down in about a yr to yr and a half's time. The Q doesn't have the side paneling like the Code 1, etc, but it hasn't been around long enough to show long term durability. If you really want lightweight, you could get an uber light ice boot and an MG Vanguard frame. Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 thanks sd !HE950 was indeed very light but very not durable.Does someone have numbers how kilos make those skate. The thing is that I read some coments on the Lieutenant saying that they were pretty heavy compared to their older skates, some even say that they feel slow with them :( Now I'm also looking at the wicked 3.Difficult choice <_< wicked line have better material but the building quality seems way better on the syndicate line.Come on guys!! I'm still waiting for owner's pics any skate from the syndicate line :PWhen the new mission roller line will be out? If there is a new one comming...
vaultingslinky 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 If you want to spend the money on a light boot for transportation purposes, get a rec skate...they are lighter and cheaper? While you don't pick up the skate and think 'woah thats light' they aren't really heavy and they are very well balanced imoEither way here are some pics... Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 Thanks for the pics really nice.I play ice hockey by the way :PYou convinced me with your pics! What are the bearings? Titanium, swiss? ABEC? brands?A shame for mission, they slaped on 608..
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 Why? 688's are garbage. They break down so fast and wheels are hard to find for them. The mini's in my carbons are already clicking after a month. The weight difference is also extremely minimal between 608 and 688 as the wheels have to have added material to make up for the smaller bearing. Smart move by Mission IMO. Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2008 I have the same set of micro bearing (NINJA) for years now with no problem at all. It's not about weight, in my case it would be mainly for the maintenance. You need way less to clean your bearing with 688. Especially here with those chassis where the bearings are very exposed IMO they are also very durable, it's like for 608 you need good stuff to be satisfy. You can't compare some BOSS/BONES bearings with some cheap noname ABEC9
