standerd to tapered

Recommended Posts

i was wondering could you shave the hosle on standered wood blade to make them fit a tapered shaft???

i reacently baught 3 easton pro blades off of ebay for my ultra-light but am thinking for getting a dolo shaft ut since i live in the uk its pretty hard to get blades at a good price and the right curve.

sorry if this is a dumb question.

thanks

What about the other way around? Tape the hossel so it fits a tappered shaft?

You can do it but it does impact feel and performance.

with the rights tools and know-how, it can be done. you really need a woodshop to do a clean job of it, though. with very close attention to tolerances, you can get it to fit exactly like a tapered blade, with no real downside.

wood can be done. I used to have an intermediate easton shaft, and used to shave senior blades to fit into the shaft.

Composites should be able to be done, but its a lot of work.
