hyprlte 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 i was speaking with a friend (whos also a member) and we were thinking or possibly putting together a MSH skate... we have a venue and could even get the NHL dressing room for us. Would anybody be interested? Just curious.
cbj05 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I'm pretty sure that it's been said in the past that a mod must be a part of it for it to be a MSH skate, and there are no mods here in Toronto.
Platypus 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 im all in...I could get a few too. I got the business card of the manager of varsity arena and was told it might cost $150-$200 per hour, maybe cheaper cause Im a student. Never ended up calling though with too much stuff on my plate. But if someone else could organize it, Ill show.
hyprlte 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 well if a mod cant make it up, it could still be a skate right?? i was just curious.
mrusse01 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I'd be in if we could have it somewhere near downtown (i.e easy TTC access). I'm pretty sure we could hold a skate, even if it's only a ModSquad 'members' skate.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 No one can stop you from getting a group of guys (and girls) together to play...but you can't use the logo or name without one of the Mods involved.
Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Netminder32's the Assistant/Associate/Ass-hatted ( :) ) Mod of the Goalie section, and he's in Windsor... if he and I man the nets, that'd make it qualify as an 'Official MSH Skate', right? We can print up showbills, make the place look real nice..Plat: Varsity ice is definitely cheaper as a student (as in VERY cheap) but they've probably taken the ice out for exams already.hyprite: if you can get the NHL dressing rooms for a reasonable rate, hell, let's do it. If that's too pricey, there's always the Ricoh, which has arguably better ice.

hyprlte 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 haha yep to rent the ice is $5000 at the acc, but the place i am talking about is at the pavilion. its about 5 min north of toronto and they have a replica of the ACC's dressing room. The ricoh can also be done (ive already skated there this year) their price is reasonable and the ice is pretty goodheres the site for the pavilionhttp://www.thepavilion.ca/icerink_icerentals.html
Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Dear god.. ahahaha..Didn't know that about the Pavilion - sounds like fun, and we won't have to send out the female (and the more attractive male) members to hook on the corner after the skate to pay the ice bill... RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Law: I honestly don't know who needs to be involved for it to qualify as an "Official" Skate. Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to Lock this for now (so it doesn't get to out of control with crazy planning)...and when JR gets a chance to see it, he can unlock and update everyone on what does and doesn't qualify. But, I'd be interested in a skate in Toronto with MSH'ers...whether it is an "Official" skate or not.Stay tuned...
