thor von clemson 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Before you go thinking I am nuts, here is a little background. I spent 20 years playing goalie; from mites to high school and then two years of college. When I graduated, I took a lot of time off but I ref'd a lot; at which time I switched to regular skates. It went fairly well for the few seasons I did it. I then went back to playing goalie for about two years. My goalie days are over due to an injury, but I can skate out still. I tried again to use regular skates and I could barely move..I use goalie skates and I can do backflips, etc.. you get the idea.I absolutely love skating out in my goalie skates. I'd wear them to bed if my wife would let me. Fortunately, I can get away with using my goalie skates for beer league... at least for now. I would like to try using regular skates though. Has anyone else experienced this?
english15x 3 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 can't say that I can. I mean 20 years on a flat blade then switching to a rocker should just take time to adjust.
Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 You could get the regular skates profiled to remove some of the rocker, then as you get comfortable, replace the steel and work the profile back toward more rocker like regular skates again?

Even going to alonger profile and leaving it there would be fine.
