Looking for an Engineering Position

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know that on occasion some employees of equipment companies comment on the various threads here at MSH. I am a mechanical engineering major with a master's degree from MIT. I'm looking for a position with a hockey equipment company and was wondering if anyone had any information, contacts, or tips on applying for these types of jobs. I am looking to do design and/or testing work. Please let me know. Thank you.

My brother got his engineering degree from MIT and a bio-mechanical degree from Harvard. You should check out Reebok if you want to stay in the area. They're in Stoughton and you can help work on the shoes and the like.

Also check out Easton, they have solid postings up all the time.

However, in most cases, there are really few companies that have their engineers work only hockey specific stuff for someone with no prior industry experience as few only have JUST hockey interests (CCM owned by Reebok, Bauer by Nike (although, sale coming?), etc).

Ogie, thanks for the reply. That's good to know. Ideally I would want to work on hockey equipment, but I love sports in general and would be more than thrilled doing engineering on any type of sports equipment. I'll look into Reebok.

Haha, I read that book several years ago and just saw the movie last night. While it's tempting (my girlfriend asked me if I would want to do that) I'de much rather get a bloody lip playing hockey then being beat up for counting cards.
