Flat feet.

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm 15 and I was wondering what is the best skates for a flat footed 15 year old?

I'm looking into graf but I'm not too sure if would the 705 do the trick or just make it worse. My uncle has a pair of 705 and I think I might try those. Also, my right foot caves in my 5k pumps would this mean a stiffer boot?

Any recommendations for these skates or different kind??

Thanks Achmed

all skates will fit you quite differently, you just need to go to your LHS and try on a few different models and brands and see what works best.

While I agree with Hazard14, getting out and trying on skates is the best thing for you. But I think the guys here who are capable of steering you in the right direction would need a little more info. We get it you have a flat foot/flat arch.... but wide heel? Narrow heel? Wide forefoot?

Certain details included, and guys here may be able to make suggestions... but as always, your best bet is to try 'em on.

my advice would be to find a skate that fits best, then look to a supportive footbed like superfeet, or even an orthotic(sp?) you might have

yep, if you give us a general overview of how your foot is shaped, then the search will be narrowed down.

superfeet are amazing but they hurt my arch the first couple times, I think for a flat footer it may be too much. I know someone with flat feet and he's using Grafs 9forget which kind) but your LHS if you have one would be your best bet

I do have orthotics (custom) but they don't fit into my skates. I were them in all my shoes and feel great.

Would pictures help I'm not really sure what kind of foot I have other than flat feet, If so what angle would I have to take it at? like 90 degrees above the knee, above the hip??

thanks achmed

Same, i have orthotics but have two pairs.. One for my shoes and onethat is trimmed for the skate. Orthotics took quite a lot of depth in my skate..which gave me minor issues. My suggestion would be get anothernpair of orthotics that you can and find that skate which ever fits best and insert orthotics to see if you still get the right depth.

Sorry for the bad grammar typing on my iPod :)

i have bear claws like you do man....flat feet...the hump behind the big toe....

i am a Bauer guy...always have been....and i've never purchased a wide skate from them, nor have i ever had problems with pain in my foot or the skate being too tight as a result of my flat feet....

though when i was your age, i switched to a pair of Tacks (from 2 previous pairs being Bauer) and they hurt my feet like hell....it was horrible...

i've been rocking Vapor XX's (regular fit, not wide) for a while now and i have NEVER had pain in those skates....baked once, fit perfectly and the break in process was perfect (as usually is for Bauer's)

thanks again
