masterpeice_patrice 4 Report post Posted May 10, 2008 hey guys im 5'9 198lbs i dont know if that is considerd small because i make up for height in width i have a strong lower body and im built like a truck.. i can give and take hits with guys bigger then me bouncing off me and landing on their butts. and im really fast.i want to tune up my game and focus more on playmaking then hitting.. everytime i get the puck i have a couple guys gunning at me trying to take my head off but i want to show the coaches im not a pussy and i can deliver a mean hit. i have the talent to cut through defencemen and fool goalies and im pretty sure other guys are aware of that because they just wont leave me alone. i want to take advantage of my height and skate low with the puck to make it harder for them to hit me and if i get that part of the game right im set. if there are any coaches in this site would u rather have a guy like me play the puck or take the bodies? if a coach asks me to hit for 3 full peroids i would be more then glad to submit if he wants me to scrap ill scrap. my goal is to become a complete player game in game out. when i skate with echl/sphl players they get fooled by my height. maybe i am a small guy?i will post more about individual goals.. and update you guys as i will be attending training camps this summer in the echl or sphl depending on where my agent sends me. and i would appricate your help and opinions im not stuck up and im open minded. btw.. i started figure skating lool. Kevin 5 Report post Posted May 10, 2008 You are short, not small. I would not worry about it because there's not much you can do about it. You are much bigger than Nathan Gerbe."if there are any coaches in this site would u rather have a guy like me play the puck or take the bodies? if a coach asks me to hit for 3 full peroids i would be more then glad to submit if he wants me to scrap ill scrap. my goal is to become a complete player game in game out." Take the body.

thejackal 46 Report post Posted May 10, 2008 played high school with a guy who was like 5'8" but built like a tank. he was probably one of the more physical forwards on the team and a really good player. the last yr he had some shoulder problems, we really missed his contribution when he was out. lampliter87 8 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 Sweet bro. You're a pro. Neat. (Insert Mack comment here).Seriously though, use your build/size to your advantage. Strength can often win over pure size. I myself am the exact opposite, tall and lanky. I weigh about the same as you and am 4 inches taller.
