Anybody go from 800c's to supreme 70/75/90/95's?

Recommended Posts

Hoping i don't get flamed for this post, I think it's a little more specific than "how are these skates...."

Right now I am in a pair of Synergy 800c's 8.0 wide width, but I'm looking to move into a new pair of skates. I'm just wondering if there's any chance in heck of fitting into any of the higher end supreme line. I would imagine that if I'm a wide width in the easton's, I'd have to go wide width in the NBH line, and that's where my problem lies- nobody around here has decent stock in wide widths....I've had some issues with getting fit at my two most local shops, but there's a really good shop about an hour or so away, but I'd rather not waste a trip up there if there's no chance my foot will fit into the Bauers. I'm curious about them because the supreme 70's and one 90's are selling pretty cheap right now, but I'm also intrigued by the new line as well (plus i have some disposable income do to recently being economically 'stimulated' lol) I know that actually feeling the skates on my foot is the only way to go, so I'm not looking for an "Oh yeah, an 8.5ee one 95 will fit like a glove", just for more of baseline as to which, if any of the skates in the line might come close to fitting me. (the 800's are so far my best fitting skates, but the heel is just recently becoming a tad sloppy, but fit much better than my old vectors) I am going to hit the good shop either way, but just don't want to get my hopes up too much for a line of skates that will never fit....

so, long story short, anybody come from a wide with synergy boot and have success fitting in the 70/75/90/95's?

Just to help with comparison.

I personally fit in a 7.5D 1500 and switched to a 8D one90 with some room in the toes.

But my personal experience is not any means of saying yes they will fit. There is no way of finding out without trying the skates on first.

my advice would be to try on the D width first, just to be sure, cause it is a wider fit. no harm in testing it out, and worst comes to worst, the wide fit is there as well.

If you plan to go to the Supreme line the chances are you'll definitely need to go with a EE width if you have a wider foot. Nike/Bauer are a slightly slimmer fitting skate. Also keep in mind about the tendon protector has a reputation breaking on the One/90's and Supreme 70's which was a bit of a quality problem. Was looking at the One/95 and Supreme 75 the other day and they seem to have improved on the tendon guard somewhat this year.

Thanks guys, this is EXACTLY the kind of feedback i was looking for, I know the only way to know for sure is to feel the skates on your foot, but I didn't want to get my hopes up and then waste a 2 1/2 hour round trip ride only to find there was no way in heck my big 'ole feet would fit....at least there's a little bit of hope :)
