Changing holder/blade size

I've been using a pair of CCM 1152's size 5D over the last 6 months and broke the left holder last week. So I went back to my old CCM 952's which are a size 6D and a longer blade. I was surprised at how much more stable and control I had going back to the longer blade and I'm wondering if it's too big of a deal to put the longer 6D holder/blades on my 5D skates?

They won't fit. If you like the feeling of more blade on the ice, get an 11' or 13' radius put on.

A radius isn't going to give you more steel. You can go up a size in holders.

There are a lot of people out there who have larger holders on their skates. Since you are going to have to replace one of the holders anyway take it to your lhs and see if they think they can make it work. One thing to consider though is what kind of shape your boots are in because larger holders will require holes to be drilled and in a lot of cases older, beat up boots don't take that very well.
