2008 Kansas Cup Riverfest Hockey Tournament

40 teams from the Midwest and beyond over two weekends during Wichita's big Riverfest. Pretty impressive turnout.

I played for the Wingnuts in Rec B the first weekend and we lost in the championship game to the Dallas Jets, who had some great skaters from the Texas Tornados Junior A club. Second weekend I played on a "Co-ed" team against other Wichita teams, and lost in the championship game again (because of a very talented former Junior A goalie!) Needless to say, it was a blast....and I am freakin beat!

Anyone make the trip?

I wish I would have known about that...its my hometown and grandparents are still there, though we are normally doing the riverwalk thing normally...

Congrats Sabby! At least now you can enjoy that winning feeling vicariously through that ragtag lot of so called hockey players you put together while you hobble around on that reconstructed knee of yours! :P

Seriously, the saves Steve made were sick. No way you guys win that one without him, esp. given I got your best skater thown out. My nose is still crooked! :lol:

I can't believe that no other MSH members played in this tourney. Not sure exactly what that means about the state of hockey here...
