Graf G7 / Cobra or Tuuk

Hi guys

Three months ago I've bought a new pair of G-7

They fit is really nice. But i feel not enough support in my feet area.

I've always tape my ankles area, but I've still felt not enough support.

May the Cobra holder the reason of that? I think the Cobra holder is not enough stiff. If I'll mount Tuuk holders on my boots, should I feel more support in my feet?

Doesn't sound like it's the blade but maybe the ankle support. I have the Cobra blade on my 735's and their a pretty still blade.

This could be the contour of the Cobra holder the blade. I believe it is an eleven foot contour. A Tuuk holder and blade is a nine or a ten depending on the blade. You either need to take time to adjust or as you've already mentioned mount a pair of Tuuks on them. Personally, I'd stick with the Cobras because they have a good rep, but their your skates, so it's up to you.

possibly because the graf is a lower cut boot than what you have used before. I personally enjoy it because I don't have to skip the top eyelet now, but I think the holder has nothing to do with your ankle support issue.

Cobra is just about as stiff as any holder you can use if not stiffer.

I just took off the Cobra holders and put on LS2's on my Ultra G5's.... I post up the difference once I get a skate on them.

I couldn't stand the Cobra's and I am hoping the LS2's are a little better for me..

The cobra holder has no effect on you not having enough ankle support. The reason you don't have enough ankle support, is because the graf g-7 is a completely independent ankle, meaning you've got to have real strong ankles to skate in them to begin with.

I'm fairly sure all graf skates are low cut, therefore providing more forward flexion and less "ankle support" feeling. . . . but the G-7 is a completely different feel since the upper is basically totally seperated from the lower of the boot.

I don't think changing the holders will improve support. . . changing will only alter the pitch you are skating at. Cobras are a forward pitch while tuuks are not. Also, the radius of the steel in cobras (11') compared to the radius of the tuuks (9') shouldn't make much of a difference.
