Best home practice surface!

Hey guys,

Im currently converting my garage into a stick and puck + shooting den. i want to lay some sort of fake ice. will a thick plastic and the odd polish now and then work? ill be useing ice hockey pucks.

I've used HDPE sheeting with some sort or lubricant spray (either silicon or was it Teflon? :rolleyes:) well whatever you get I urge you not to Google image search "teflon spray"

EDIT: Forgot to add try searching things like "synthetic ice" "HDPE" "fake ice" etc.

currently I have a shooting range in my backyard.

I shoot off of a large piece of plexiglass that has been sprayed with silicone spray and rubbed in with a towel. It works good.

I got some stuff from Home Depot that works great, and it was only $11 for a huge sheet. It's like masonite, but one side is white and its very slick. It looks like one of the panels that makes up the boards of a rink. It's in the flooring section.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I've been looking around for a surface to practice on in the backyard also. What would be a good size of material to get if I were planning to stickhandle on it?
