A friend of mine is going to be moving from Montreal to North Carolina, in the Raleigh area I believe, and he wants to know where there is ice, and if there's pick-up hockey any places. Basically any information about available hockey, because he loves to play.

There's some good hockey in and around Raleigh. You have the Cary Ice House, and then then ice arena just on the outside of the loop around Raleigh. Both are nice facilities with pick-up, house leagues, and all the usuals.

He can go to www.usahockey.com and on the right there is a hockey finder tab. Might help him locate exactly what is closest to him. Best of luck.

I live about 3 hours from Raleigh. A buddy of mine I play with is from there, his brother works at a rink there. He goes down everynow and then and tells me how they go from rink to rink all day hitting pick ups and puck shoots. He says it's actually pretty big, especially since the Canes won the cup it has grown quite a bit. I'll ask him for some specific rinks. Your pal should have plenty to do from what I have heard.

Here are the rink websites: Also, if he is looking for a good A league, the Cary Ice House has the best competation in the area.

www.icehouserinks.com - Cary, Garner, Wake Forest(Factory Ice House)

www.reczone.net

www.iceplex.com

all in all you have 6 sheets of ice in the area and the pick up is good depending on where you go and when. Which rink he goes to would really depend on where in raleigh he is moving to. Shoot me a PM if you need any more info

Just curious, what is the name of the rink At Wake Forrest? I clicked on the Factory Ice House link, but i don't remember the rink having a pro shop. The rink that I'm talking about is very close to the Wake Forrest basketball and football stadiums (parking lots separate them).
