What are the problems that you have been having with the clear platic dangler?

I have tried the VPC 7000 (http://www.vaughnhockey.com/products/accessories.htm, third from the top) and found it slightly uncomfortable, and opted to go with only a dangler.

I recently bought a new mask, and got lazy about buying a dangler and attaching it. In the next month, I was hit in the neck twice, and once during the warmups before an important game. oops.

i have been using this one http://goaliemonkey.com/itnetech18.html but i has been fogging up, getting caught in my chest protector and giving me headaches when i move my head (the noise).

without it i have only been hit in the neck once in warmups but the shot came from the side when i wasnt even looking. the only reason i put one on was because the other goalie on one of my teams took a stick blade to the neck and had to leave the game with a cut on the throat (nothing serious).

I used the same dangler, and didn't really have any problems with it. I feel a little more "free" without it, but it's a small sacrifice to make to protect the neck.

When you say it fogged up, how is that a problem? You're not really going to look through it...

My goalie has the same problem with not being able to look down with the plastic neck protector. He started using something like this and has never gone back.

do you know how your goalie likes that?

I dont like using the dangler one either but i also have taken a few to the collar bone, which isnt too pleasant, as a result from that.

That rbk one looks like a lot of protection though...lmk what he thinks of it

He said that its comfortable and he has an easier time looking down than he did with the dangler. He got hit there a couple times by a shot and he said that it didn't hurt. He also said that its light weight, which is always a plus when it comes to equipment. Hope that helps.

He has never said whether or not he had any problems with moving his head. Watching him play, he is constantly looking around and moving his head, so it doesn't appear that he has any trouble with head or neck movement.

That is why I use and recommend the version from Maltese, it adds all the protection without unduly restricting the motion of your head.

Those vaughn throat protectors are pretty good. They feel kinda bulky at first, but after a couple ice times, you wont even feel it. I can't even play without it anymore because of how unsafe I feel with it off.
