Engine37 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2008 My older brother hit me with my mom's car when I was about 13 or so (yes, it was on purpose). I was perfectly fine, luckily, but it was still one of the most frightening moments in my life. I can only imagine what all this was like for you dude!Sounds like the lady that hit you is a real chump. I have no idea whose fault the accident is, but I guess IMO if you do hit someone with your car, you have a moral obligation to take care of the injured pedestrian before you do anything else. Even IF, by some crazy miracle, the whole thing was not at all her fault (not the case here I think), she still hit you with her freakin car. I can understand her being upset, but her top priority should be making sure you are OK and getting proper medical attention. Then she tried to lie to the authorities about the accident...and that tells me she probably isn't a very ethical person. Here's to hoping your recovery goes well and you come back to hockey a stronger person and better player. Best of luck to you!

Best of luck to you!If you read his story, to me it seems that it is his fault and not the lady's fault. It's not like she ran a stop sign or a red light. He seemed to be jaywalking, let a bus go by than proceeded to cross the street and got hit. So I don't see how it was the lady's fault at all. She probably did not have enough time to react when she saw him after the bus went by. I don't know if you guys have ever seen a bus but if you are a car following a bus, you definitly do not see the guy that's about to jaywalk right after the bus got by. The guy comes on looking for our sympathy, dissing the lady when in reality it looks like he really asked for it.... fogged glasses, jaywalking and the works. By his account the lady was driving at the speed limit too so again, it sucks to be hit by a car but seems to me like he asked for it by putting all the odds against himself
IntoGear 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2008 Back in July of 2002 around 11:30pm I was working on US-64 about a mile out of Reamsur when a blue haired old lady put me on her hood and through the windshield of her car. I got up and put a few dents in the roof with my fist and broke the window and caved the drivers side door kicking it.( I kinda got upset yankee style and hadn't played hockey in a month). Then the pain hit and I was down for a ride to Asheboro hospital. After about 5 hrs and some x-rays with a couple shots of something good... I was finally told I had fractured my collar bone, a hair line fracture in my hip and bruised my hands (wonder why).Best news... no hockey for 8 weeks at least. Oh and I can tell you when its going to rain 24 hrs in advance and so far I've never been wrong course the dirt bikes and motocross helped with that too. Then my lawyers took a few months fighting her insurance company but they finally got me a big enough pay-off to buy my house.Seem the sweet little ol lady was coming home from visiting her family, course she been restricted to day light driving only but she only lived a few miles (35) up the road. She told the sheriff she thought she'd hit one of our orange barrels (me in my safety vest) when a big animal starting attacking her car (guess who) and she thought she was going to die.I was charged with destruction to private property and disturbing the peace (which almost got me 30 days contempt of court) but my lawyers (great job guys) got it suspended . (meaning no jail time) Iwas home from work two weeks, doing stretches and bike work with some LIGHT weights and back playing hockey four weeks later. Total time out of action, 6 weeks! My team mates all said they were happy not to be playing against me them first couple games, seems I had some bent up frustration and anger to work out on anyone dumb enough to cross my blue line with the puck.Speedy recovery dude, and watch old for blue hair behind the wheel!
