cmvondran 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 I'm going to be in c-bus this weekend and saw they have a drop in on sunday morning. I have never been there before and wondered if anyone has skated there before? Hows parking? I'm sure the ice is good since its the blue jackets practice site. sc37 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 Parking is free in the attached garage. If the gate is closed, just take the ticket to the front desk and they'll validate it for you. Ice was realllly good, then it went to the crapper for a while like it did on the main ice, but I think they've fixed the problems. I played on it the last two weeks and it was pretty good. sc37 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 I'd hit the 315N to 670E and take the first exit at Neil Ave. Idk about the Sunday drop-ins cause my Sundays are packed and never get a chance to play then. I do know they have been good on the weekdays as people play before work, and it's good on Saturdays that I've played in down there...but to answer your quesiton specifically, I really don't know. ctaz 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2008 Hopefully, I didn't misunderstand you and you're coming southbound on 71 rather than coming from southern Ohio on northbound 71. Take 71-S to 670-W towards downtown, get off at Neil Ave. You're going to head south (left) on Neil Ave. Then at the 2nd light (there should be a sign for the new ballpark on the southwest corner of the intersection) make a left into the arena. There will be 2 parking lots that you drive by. Don't park in the one of the left as you might get ticketed. The one on the right is pay parking. Go to the stop sign that deadends into a 3way staring right at the rink. Turn left. then before you get to the fenced off area you make another left and follow that loop around to the garage. I believe they have signs for Ice Haus Parking that'll direct you there. As sc37 said the ice was good, when I played there in high school (home rink for St. Charles) the ice was 2-3 years old and amazing and fast everytime. Since then from what I've heard the guy that maintained the ice originally left, but I think they've found someone that's gotten the ice back to a good quality, still not as good as the original guy though in my opinion. Have fun enjoy the ice. From what I know Sunday morning drop-ins are usually pretty good as far as turnout, regardless of what rink the Chiller Ice Rinks put it at.
