CCM Vector "Control" Protective Gear

Can anyone tell me where the CCM Vector Control Series of protective gear sits in relation to the stock offerings in the Vector line? I'm looking at some shoulder pads and am having trouble pulling the trigger on them because of how little I know about them as they are an SMU. Does anyone know?
