S500s

Are there any online retailers that sell S500s other than Hockey Giant? Great Skate doesn't even stock them? What's up with that? My steel broke on my Pure Flies and the screws are rusted and now stripped from my father trying to get them off. They're like 2 years old anyway, so I'm just gonna get new skates now. But I would like to find someplace online, I wish they had the "Free M-1 with purchase of skates" promo still but of course whenever I need shit they never have sweet promos.

EDIT: Oh, I've been using Missions for years now, but how is the new Vector line? Should I try some Vector Pros before I make my decision for my fourth or fifth pair of missions? I was always in Tacks for many years before I switched to Mission. And I was wondering how the Vectors would compare.

Let me know...also...have you tried the Vector Pros...because I read your review on the 500s but I doubt anyone else would have tried both.

I find Mission sizing to be very strange. I take a size 7.5 EE in bauer, but 9D in Missions. But there is the same amount of toe space in each aswell as room on the side.

If you have been skating in Pure Fly's and went to a Vector, I think you would be very disappointed. You would lose comfort, performance, and durability...Remember back to when you first got your Pure Flys....The increase range of motion, foward flex, and comfort...

Now imagine skating in a stiff cast like boot....I'm not saying the Vector is a bad skate....I'm just saying it is completely different than Pure Fly/S500....

That's what I noticed when I switched from CCM to Mission. The increased range of motion took a short time to get used to but now they are great alot more comfortable than my old CCM's nothing against CCM. I bought my Missions used and they look pretty old so I can't even imagine what the S500's would be like.

It is such a different feeling when you skate the S500s/Pure Fly's....I'm not saying that CCM is bad, just it will be hard to adjust...

what roller boot would be equal to the pure flys? i had the luck to geat pro stock pure flys and converted them to roller, they are by far the best skate i have ever used, but wonder if that is partly because they were "nhl" broken in already

Justin, is the tongue on the S400/S500 any thicker then the one on the D1C? I blocked a shot last night and hobbling around now, the tongue is like paper

The S500 tongue is TOTALLY different from last year...probably the most comfortable tongue I've skated with.

Yes, but can I stand in front of a speeding puck and not worry about having a welt? Just kidding, I know the answer is no. Good thing Im not playing defense after this season :)
