Need Help with (older?) style Mission Pitch 3 Hardware

Recommended Posts

I'm a big fan of the Mission Pitch 3 holder after putting them on my Supreme 70's after I cracked the LS2P holders that were on the boot originally.

I bought another pair of the Pitch 3's and had them mounted on another pair of boots. I ordered them without steel and they came without the hardware to mount the steel to the holders, but that wasn't a big deal because I had a spare set of Pitch 3 hardware.

The problem came about when I tried to put the Pitch 3 hardware on the new freshly mounted holders and I discovered that the hardware doesn't fit the new holders at all. I always thought that there was only one kind of hardware for the Pitch 3's (circular bolt on one side that screws into a squared nut on the other side).

I'm posting some pics that will hopefully show better what I'm talking about. All of the pictures are taken from the same side of the holders (inward facing). The pictures labeled skate1 show the front and back holes/mounts for the Pitch 3 holders that I just bought with the holder slots that don't take the squared style hardware, and the ones labeled skate2 show the front and back holes/mounts for the Pitch 3 holders on my older skates, which have the squared off slots.

I'm trying to work it out with the place that I bought the holders from, and if they can't help I guess I'll try Mission and see if they can help. If anyone has a spare set of this (I guess older?) style of Mission Pitch 3 hardware that will work on my new holders I'd really appreciate the help, and I'd of course pay for shipping and whatever you think is a fair price for the hardware itself. I just want to be able to get the new skates on the ice as soon as I can and thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone is able to help.

Thanks for listening!

There was a revision done to PITCH - I actually brought it to their attention and they used my idea.

I had stripped the round one and suggested square bolts. It was a running change the first year. All of the newer models have the square bolts.

Not only that, but if you keep the round one, you won't be able to find steel for it as the steel was changed as well. Send it back and ask for the square one.

JR,

Thanks a million for the info. Man, switching holders has turned into a bust timewise and moneywise as well since I'll have to pay another 40 bucks to get the right holders mounted. I miss my old LHS back in VA....

Thanks again JR

JR,

I have the older circular Pitch 3 holder screws and 1 of them seems to have stripped. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to make the blade hold so I don't have to get new holders?
