CCM Vector helmet+FM 480 Cage

I'm about to buy a new Vector helmet (V08 or V10) for my 15 year old son. Would I have to buy a combo to get an approved combination, or could he simply just use his 1-year old Jofa FM 480 cage? Thanks!

Any certified cage and certified helmet can be used for USA Hockey play, I believe the IIHF regulations are the same.

You can use that cage with that helmet, but to be honest it is one fugly combo imo. Saw a kid playing with that combo the other day, bad style.

I have the same combo. It hurts a lot on the sides, like once i was bleeding on the side because I got hit and it slide and scrapped the side of my head.
