Grippy Stick vs. Grippy Palm

Recommended Posts

Most issues with equipment come down to personal pref. That being said, I am interested in some opinions on what material to repalm my gloves with. I like to have a good grip on my stick to torque up on my wrist shots and saucer passes. Would anyone suggest using a grippier stick with a soft palm (like clarino), a grippier palm and a non grip stick, or some combo of both?

Any suggestions on materials are appreciated. Thanks.

I suppose it depends on if you want the same grip on the end and the shaft. If you like both really grippy, get grippy palms. Otherwise, you can make a really grippy knob and keep the shaft slick, or add some tape to the shaft and have a normal end.

I have DuraSoft on my top palm and the stock digital grip palm on the low hand and it feels fine. I'm sure once I have my other glove re-done I might want to add a bit of grip to the stick.

Jarick,

I agree with your idea... How thick are the digital palms compared to the durasoft?

Mine came stock on my Vector Pro's...they were pretty thin though. Work really well to grip when you want and release when you don't. I had to use some cheap Vapor Apollo's when I had the one palm redone and missed the grip on the lower hand. But the digital grip palm wore really quickly on the top hand. Only thing though was with grip shafts (Vapor XX, Bauer Endure) I couldn't move my hand.

I only got one done to save money as the other was in good shape. I'll get both done next time the top hand goes and see if I need more grip on the shaft. The DuraSoft is really nice though, very soft, never gets crusty at all, decent grip (although it took some getting used to). I used to use the Powerflex tape with the digtal palms and now I just use regular white. Doesn't make sense, but I prefer it.

the pros use what is called a rub stick. get an old shaft or piece of wood about half a foot long and tape it the sticky side out and then rub it on your shaft. it gets super sticky and is awesome. way bettet then the crap the factory uses. and it's free. put it where ever you want it.
