Tour Carbons

Recommended Posts

I haven't bought roller skates in ages, just been converting old hockey skates. I'm thinking about looking into a roller pair this holiday season, and I've found Tour Code Carbons at a pretty good price on sale. I'm going to go try and find a pair to try on this weekend, but I was just looking for some input on quality and such...I'm coming from a pair of 8090 7.5D converted if that gives you any idea on how fit might be for me.

Thanks for the help in advanced

i liked the code 1's more than the code carbons. the 1's are lighter. and i like the cateye straight 76 set up. vs. the straight 80. i find that the smaller your foot, the worse the 80 set up feels. i wear a size 6.5-7 skate. hummer chasis that take all 80 make me feel like im on speed skates.

as for wheels, everyone is always complaining about the revisions without using them. then i give them a set and they fall in love....

labeda dynasty grippers are almost as good.

The carbons feature a new toe cap that models made before it (code-1) didn’t have that gives more toe space. I went from code-1 to carbons as well and liked the carbons more since they are a stiffer skate.

I genuinely think they're the best possible skates you can get off the shelves.

...coming from the guy that's basically worn every skate out there. That must say something.

I love my Carbons and will probably be picking up an ice pair to convert to Sprungs. I have two complaints about mine. The tongues would shift to the outside of my foot slightly and leave me with bad lace bite at the top of my ankle if I laced the top eyelets. I quit using the top eyelets and don't have that problem anymore. And as mentioned above, the Fuzion wheels are good for about 2 to 3 skates. I've switched out the Revisions and after the first couple of skates with them, I am happy with them.

when my code 1's are done im getting the carbon ice skates and putting the hummer on them

why? i asked the tour people about that and they said that the ice boot was exactly the same as the roller boot.

yep already have the chassis so 200 bucs sounds alot better than 400

The holes aren't the same for the ice holders and the Hum'er chassis. You'll weaken the boot by drilling extra holes. You can find Code Carbons for around $250 now. If it were me, I would (and did) just buy new inlines.

by the time i need new skates there is a chance that it would be cheaper to buy the inlnes, however if the need for new skates surfaces soon im not spending an extra 150 bucs for a frame that I already have three in my house. I have the same bearings, and IMO better wheels. so the extra money id spend on pure inlines would be wasted anyway. besides my lhs swaps chassis and drills new holes for about 15 bucs a skate. still less than 250 bucs
