C$100 a good price for XN10?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I popped into a store today on my search for a shaft, and they had two TPS XN10s. They were originally priced $180, but had a sale price of $150. When the guy checked in the computer, a price of $100 came up. Just wondering if this is a good price for this shaft (I've read good things on here)? They are really beaten up from shop wear, but it appears to be only cosmetic. $100 seems like a lot for a 4 year old shaft that looks beaten up...

Also, the stickers say the shafts are senior, but just to be sure: Should a senior XN10 with the black wooden end plug be about the same length as a new s15 (obviously no plug)?

Thanks!

Are they R2 (tapered) or Red Lite (standard) shafts? If they are R2 then they should be longer than a S15, Red Lite should be close if not the same length as S15.

I'm guessing you're from Canada based on your IP address.

It's a better shaft than anything else you're going to get for $100, I'd say jump on it. If it's the R2XN10, I believe it's the best shaft ever sold at retail.

Yes, I'm from Canada. I can't remember if it was the R2 or the redlight (I didn't know there were two versions). This one was red. Does anyone have a pic of the R2? If it's the red light, is it still worth it?

Red shaft was the red light XN10, a standard shaft. Not the most durable, but had fantastic performance for a standard shaft.

Thanks for the info. It's much appreciated.

and you said it was really beat up? how so? especially from shop wear.

Ya, they were both really beaten up: Lots of scratches and spots where the paint was flaked off. The were in a bin-type thing, so I assume it's from being sifted through so many times.

The paint on them tended to flake off pretty easily.

The paint flaked on both of my R2XN10s. It didn't seem to take much. All of the corners of the shaft are now black cause the paint all chipped off.
