New palms grippy?

Recommended Posts

I have been using one90 sticks for some time now and I have both grip and non grip version. I dont know if it is more on account of different gloves and different types of palms, but it seems that the general trend is new palms are rather sticky. With wear, the grippyness of the palm kind of fades off.

For example. I sent a pair of MIA's off to be repalmed with eagles msh2. In the meantime i was using some l7's and also easton pro stock gloves that were both used and had no issues. When I got the MIA's back, the msh2 would stick to my one90 grips in an irritating and hampering fashion.

A few months and some trades later, the same thing happens with a pair of single layer nash palms on nbh 4rolls.

Has anyone else experienced new palms being on the grippy side? If this is common knowledge or has been discussed before, feel free to make fun of me/lock this bad boy.

MSH2 is slick, it's the slickest of any palm I have tried. If you sent it to fixitbymail, I doubt you got MSH2. It looks like it but it feels different, is thicker and is slightly off-color.

FFH and digital were two of the "stickiest" palms I've tried.

Interesting. Not sure why they seemed to stick to my sticks. If the palm was not msh2 what would it have been exactly? The palms had the eagle logo on them. Perhaps the new palm exploited the fact the gloves were slightly too big? All I know is that they just didn't feel quite right with the grip sticks.

In regards to other palms, does the mustang have a suede-like finish(which I assume contributes to the lack of friction)?

Well it might have been MSH2(mine from fixit aren't). Have a pic of the palm? MSH2 is slick, I don't like grip sticks but I can actually use one with MSH2.

Don't have the gloves handy to take a pic. What other slippery palms have you dealt with before? Also have you noticed the level of grip in the palms decrease after using them for a while?

If anything, they are less slick. Other microfibres are slick and I'd consider the CCM nash palm used on pro gloves(single layer) to be pretty good. The NBH/bauer stretch palm isn't exactly grippy either.
