Dolomite shaft s15 blade

Recommended Posts

Synergy elite blades seem to crack and break in half very easily. My buddys lasted about 3 games and at the LHS i work at people always bring them in broken in the exact same spot. Dolomite blades seem to last a heck of a lot longer.

I used a Synergy Elite blade in a Dolo for a while. The feel was really good if you like softer wood-like blades, and the shot was good, but the durability of the blades is terrible. It started to weaken and crack after only a few skates, and the heel chipped very easily. I ended up not liking the curve and picking up a Christian blade, which had a similar feel with much better durability. I also used a Dolomite blade, which had a stiffer feel but even better durability (plus the Weight curve is amazing).

Any other good combos out there with the dolo shaft ? I'm very curious as I might get a OPS dolo or a shaft for christmas or a thought and was wandering what blades balanced out the shaft and had a good durability topped off with a nice pop or stiffness of the blade? I have read about the xxx lite blade with the dolo shaft and was really great but, since it has been discontinued hence my questions.

Why not go with the Dolo blade?

I agree with the previous comments on the synergy blade...As far as the heel cracking, I've found a workable solution. Electrical tape on the heel (up to the point where I start the actual cloth tape) seems to work rather well. I've tried epoxy (chips off), duct tape (wears away too quickly) and the electrical tape works best. I'd try the dolo blade, but I can't find anything curve/lie wise that equals Iggy...
