Questions about warrior curves

Recommended Posts

I just have a couple of questions about warrior curves:

1- What's the deal with the weight lie? It's listed as 4 by Warrior but its 5.5 in the pattern DB. Which is it and why the discrepancy?

2- Which Warrior pattern, if any, is closest to the Bauer P88?

Thanks!

the weight is kind of a 5.2-ish on the easton scale. the darby easton is a 5.4, same pattern. the warrior retail kovulchuk/robitaille is as close to the p88 as you get.

Draper

Not true, I have a P88 XXXX and a Dolo Draper.... not close at all! Lies are different the Draper is way open at the end compared to the P88. although mine is prostock.. never put the retail up right next to it

The Weight for me plays very similar to a Forsberg; it's closer to 5 than 5.5, but if you want to call it 5.25, go for it. It definitely feels close enough to a 5 for me.

The Lindros felt not too far off from a 5.5. lie, maybe a bit higher, but it also has a rockered heel. My Robitaille (which is close to a Lindros) definitely feels like a much higher lie than the Weight.

Oh yeah, and the Robitaille is really close to a Lindros, with a bit of a rockered heel and a similar lie, curve, profile, and toe.

How does the Smyth compare to the Robitaille? And it changed to the Kovalchuk now right?

I haven't used it, but I've played around with it in a store. It seems to be a bit longer blade, and the curve starts further out towards the toe than the Robitaille. The lie seemed lower and flatter, kind of like the Weight, but I can't tell you if it's a 5 or 5.25 or what. It looks like a fun curve if you like that kind of thing...but I'm more of a straighter blade guy.

I have both blades. The Smyth is a much deeper mid/toe curve and a lower lie than the Robitaille/Kovalchuk (think Iggy but longer and slightly deeper)
