rtwng20 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2008 Our rink makes it mandatory for anyone in any hockey program or league. Their take is that the insurance protects not only the players but also the owners of the rink in the ocurance of a catostrophic injury. For 35 bucks it's really not outragous considering you get a mag once a month. One question for you Legia, your name wouldn;t be Stash Crosbyski would it. mbeede 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2008 ok, so if you go the USAH route for the insurance will it still cover you if you get hurt in a league/rink that is not certified by USAH?

I think it only covers you under the USAH umbrella, leagues, tournaments etc. I don't think you can claim for stick and puck injuries, or non-sanctioned events, but I haven't read the policy too much.I work in insurance, but haven't read the USAH contract to see what the qualifying events for coverage is

If any one of those critera are not met, they will not cover anything.

One question for you Legia, your name wouldn;t be Stash Crosbyski would it.i have no problem paying the 35 bucks. but i was told to play for a competitive team id have to pay the iihf all this money to be registered in the usa again. i guess i'll just try and see if it works. it would suck ass to get my team disqualified or even get myself into trouble because of this. i'll look more into i guess
