roller to ice 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 I have missed 4 open hockey sessions in a row because of this damn northern n.j snow i live 20-25 minutes away from 2 rinks and the highways are to messed up for my lil 2wd ford ranger to navigate down, the 3 roller rinks in my town are outdoors and of course have not been cleared. Does anyone else get snowed in and miss games practices shinny etc. or anything else like that what to you guys do to pass the time and to ease the withdrawl. Powerfibers 8 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 My son was scheduled to play on the 2008 Winter Classic rink Friday, and that got canceled because of snow (over a foot and a half so far!). However, regular indoor ice hockey hardly ever gets canceled here. We just get to the rink. Buffalo is used to it.I feel for you though, I remember as a kid when baseball got rained out, made me sick. Hang in there.

Didn't even buy top of the line ($114 per tire)...but that and the 120 lbs I have over the rear axle makes a HUGE difference from last winters snow driving. roller to ice 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 yea i should try some different tires but i could never allow myself to spend alot on tires b/c as you prob know in a ranger being so light even not driving like a jerkoff you always spin em and ruin your tires and i have sand bags in my bed but not 120lbs worth maybe ill try more weight

SidCaeser 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Our rink is closed due to carbon monoxide levels. No joy. Despite the fact that it is -20 out. I wanted to play. Any other strange rink closings?

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted December 23, 2008 Yes, that was JR's old rink. He can tell the story better...but if I recall, fluid/oil leak onto hot engine parts ignited...And, to the best of my knowledge...JR's leaving had nothing to do with the Zamboni fire. playthehawkee 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2008 I didn't play this past week because of the snow/ice.We play at an outdoor rink too and I've got the itch to skate some. They're calling for more wet weather so I'm not sure how this weekend's going to look either but I'll just have to wait and see.I might wind up heading to a roller rink and just getting some chillaxing skate time in.
