Chadd 916 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 Has anyone gotten the correct ruling from the most recent rule book? I can't for the life of me find mine.I'll look it up tonight. I think I know where my book is.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 A couple weeks back...I'm crossing the blue line 2-1. Pass is ahead of me...goalie comes out to play it (for some odd reason) and misplays it...now it's me alone on a D-man in front of an otherwise empty net. It's pick up...I don't want to plow it at him...but I know he can kick it away if it's on the ice...I toss a weak, but not wimpy wrister at the net...he goes down and throws out an arm, and 'blocker saves' me into the corner.Best part...(?), it was his first time out with us...and he works for me.I was getting e-mails from guys at work the next day..."Tell me about 'the save'"
Chadd 916 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 Has anyone gotten the correct ruling from the most recent rule book? I can't for the life of me find mine.203 (f) Except when the goalkeeper(s) is/are incapacitated, no playeron the playing roster in that game shall be permitted to wearthe equipment of the goalkeeper. If a team’s goalkeeper(s)is/are unavailable to continue, a team must immediatelyappoint a temporary goalkeeper (see Glossary) or place anadditional skater on the ice with none of the goalkeeper’sprivileges.Situation 8Is a team allowed to play a game with six players and nogoalkeeper?Yes. Rule References 203(c & f).A team may opt to play the game with six players and nogoalkeeper. However, the Referee and the Coach must beaware that no player is allowed to have the privileges of thegoalkeeper. If the team has no designated goalkeeper on theroster, this is the only option. A temporary goalkeeper maynot be used unless he has replaced a designated goalkeeperwho has participated in that game and is unable to continueplaying.I think those cover what we've been discussing

DavidT 11 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 We've had to do the player in net thing a few times.A few ass beatings have also ensued just to make sure the courtesy of no hard shots is still alive and well.

fieldofdreams 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 Maybe not the only one, but I looked and couldn't find it. If I could, I certainly wouldn't be asking YOU, nor anyone else for that matter, for the definitions.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 Temporary GoalkeeperA player not designated as a goalkeeper on the Official Scoresheetwho assumes that position when no designated goalkeeper is ableto participate in the game. He is governed by goalkeeper privilegesand limitations and must return as a “player” when a designatedgoalkeeper becomes available to participate in the game. RecLeagueHero 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2009 Our rec league will not allow a player who is not in goalie gear to stand in the crease and act like a goalie. You get six skaters on the ice and you can keep one back on D if you want, but he can't stand infront of the net and try to block shots.
