Breathing life into old skates

I recently found an old pair of Z air comps in my garage which fit my foot like a pair of surgical gloves... I took the holder/steel off and now im dealing with a large rust issue on the steel, rust on the holders, and dirt on the skates (both inside and outside) Any good tips on how to bring these skates back to looking... well better? Cleaning solvents etc... thanks... Merry Christmas! And Happy Kwanza! and Happy Hanukkah!!!

So wait... are you replacing the holders and steel or just cleaning them? Why not just throw on some new ones?

Yes , good call. Throw on a new set of holders and steel. That's what I would do as well.

yea ill do that... i mean cleaning the boot itself... and special oils or solvents? Its was that weird silver boot, now it looks like crap... I dont know what cleans the quarters on skates
