Easton SE16 or Mission Fuel 130 gloves

Recommended Posts

The reason i'm asking this is because i'm not familiar with the Mission gloves. My LHS has the Eastons and the Fuel 120 (hate the cuff), but supposedly the Fuel 130 is a nicer glove and doesn't have that dumb cuff. I believe the Fuel 130 fits a little tighter, and the Easton feel super-comfortable on my hand. Anybody have any 'hands-on' with the Missions, or actually tried both? I haven't used Easton gloves in years because I used to have problems with the palms wearing out quickly, so i'm hoping this is no longer an issue.

All input/feedback is greatly appreciated!

They are very different gloves. As legiahockey mentioned the 130's are a lot like the one90's - a tapered fit glove. The se16's are a volume fit glove - so if you like the fit, then i would stick with them; perhaps look at the NBH 4rolls as well - an excellent glove with a similar fit.

Personally i just returned a pair of 4rolls and picked up some 130's. The 130's are far and away my favorite gloves. The cuff is nothing like the 120's - it's very flexible and again, much like the NBH supreme line. Some people don't like the palm since it is multilayered and has grip finger tips, but i love it - excellent feel right from the start.

The mission Fuel gloves are fantastic. They are snug but not tight. The inside feels great because of the lining (neoprene I think), you don't feel the leather/whatever patches are on the palms, so it's always soft.

I just (yesterday) traded a pair here for the NBH One90's, and the only reason I'm trading is because I like a really tight glove, otherwise I would still use them.

If you like your gloves snug, but not tight, then the Fuel 130's are the ones for you.

Because of the patched fingers, rather than a continuous palm, you get a great feel with them, they have vent's to allow more air in (which was always a great feature for me, and the reason I would recommend Mission any day of the week if you don't need very tight gloves).

I've tried on quite a few gloves, and based on my experience I would go

Eagle/Mia/TPS = Fairly loose

Bauer 4 roll/Easton (not the stealth line, haven't tried those on, the 4 roll)/CCM tack gloves = loosish

RBK/CCM Vector/Mission Fuel = Snug but not tight

NBH One90 = Tight

Again, this is just what I thought, but I may have unusual mongloid hands or something.

Should also add, in my opinion, the worst feeling glove I've ever put my hand into are those Warrior skeleton looking ones. Nightmare

i can't say anything for the missions but i love the se16's, find them to be breathable, more so than my previous eagles. so unless you are set on the missions or require a more snug fitting glove then i would go with the eastons.

Now the downside.........finding them in 14" black...........nobody seems to have them.

Just found a small website that is linked to a Minnesota sporting goods store. $91.90 for the gloves. Nice!!!!

lol believe me u have an easier time than me...my hands are super small for my size (i'm 6') and i sometimes use a 12" junior size because its tight enough but it never covers enough of my wrists and if the gloves real tight so its not slipping around then i can use a stupid 13"

Eastons are nice gloves but in this instance I'd go for the Fuel 130's. Took a look at them a while back and their great gloves.
