Meszaros wearing a fullcage?

Andre Meszaros (sp?) of the Tampa Bay Lightning wore a full wire cage in the last game against the Kings... anybody know?

Probably broke something recently or had surgery on something.

Robidas of the Stars still wears one from breaking something last year.. His jaw I believe and his cage is DAMN UGLY

Robidas is not still wearing one from last season. He was wearing a cage in the playoffs last year, but early this year he was back to a normal half shield, then around mid-December he must have gotten hurt again because the cage reappeared so it must be a new injury, not the same one from last year.

Thought it was a mouth injury. So weird to see a cage in the NHL.

Mid Decemeber Robidas had his jaw broken.

Meszaros took a slapshot to the face, below the nose. Required 64 stitches to make him right. That would be the reason for the cage.

I know that. I remember somebody had this weird thing so that he didn't have to wear a cage it was just a cage around his mouth/jaw or something... looked real uncomfortable. It's weird in the way that the World Juniors was weird, seeing cages and shields play together in such a... big tournament. Couldn't think of better adjective...

During the 97-98 Finals for the Capitals Gonchar had what I believe the poster above me was asking about, if anyone was wondering. Chris Clark wore one last year as well.
