fedorov#91 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2009 ok, so ive been dying with the flu for about a week and a half, on tuesday night i take 2 sudafed then bout half hr later i take 2 paracetamol for pain, next thing i know ive got this really really painful right, i stick it out all night, pain becomes to painful so my mum takes me to hospital bout 2 in the morning, doctor sticks that ear thing in both ears then sends me away with co-codamal and a course of antibiotics to help. so i go home, take 2 co-codamals for the pain and finally get to sleep, wake up pretty early, turn on my right side which is the painful side and notice this 'stuff' is pouring outta my ear. upon further inspection, it looks like blood mix with puss(sorry for the mental picture guys). i swear i had a mountain of tissues covered in the stuff. so my mum phones my auntie whos like a nurse and asks her opinion, she said it sounds like a perferated eardrum and to just wait it out to fix itsself unless the unreal pain comes back. also not to get it wet or cold.so my question is, should i do anything else? Thanks guys, Eddy

Hooah4 12 Report post Posted January 15, 2009 Go see a Doc. If your eardrum is busted there's not much that can be done. I t will heal but in the end it will be weaker and more prone to rupture.
firestud17 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 I believe the same thing happened to me if we are talking about the same problem. My ear was always bloody for about a week, and I don't remember anything about puss coming out though.Mom called the doctor and said there was nothing they could do, I was crying and screaming the pain was so bad when it initially ruptured. <_< It eventually just heeled itself, no problems now. That was the worst pain I have ever had in my life so far. :(
pantherfan 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 Ear pain can suck, I don't know what dosage your on but co-codamol did naff all for me on several occasions, if pain persists go back and ask if theres a chance they could up your meds or at least clean the funk out your ear.Tramadols FTW :P

Goalieboy#1 1 Report post Posted January 21, 2009 Over the summer i had a double ear/eardrum infection... Woke up one morning with unimaginable pain in my head, a never ending pressure and there was puss and blood all over the pillow. Went to the doc and he said it was the worst he had ever seen... and then told me that my eardrums were severly close to bursting, and he wouldnt be surprised if they did. They got me on meds and 3-6 days later i was alllllll better. The end. :) So i say go to the doctor, cause you dont know how bad it could be.
