Washington Capitals Stick Sale

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i thought I'd let you know that the Caps are doing a stick sale at tomorrows game. I'm assuming it's going to be a similar selection to what they had during their equipment sale during the summer. Here are the details.

Pick-A-Stick

Stop by the community relations table on the main concourse behind section 104 at the Caps game on Saturday, Jan. 17, to Pick-A-Stick. For $65 you can buy a Capitals hockey stick. Almost every stick is autographed by a Caps player; however, if the stick you select is not signed, Karl Alzner will sign it for you personally after the game!

Sticks are limited so don't miss this special opportunity. Pick-A-Stick starts as soon as the doors open at 5:30 p.m. There will be an express line for customers paying with cash. Credit cards will be accepted, but cash is preferred. Five lucky winners will get to meet Karl Alzner and all of the money raised goes to Washington Capitals Charities, so visit the community relations table on Jan. 17 to Pick-A-Stick!

Rules

* Only two sticks per person, supplies are limited.

* If the stick you select is not autographed, Karl Alzner will sign it after the game.

* Only the winners will be allowed to meet Alzner. If a winner is under the age of 18, he or she may be accompanied by one adult.

* There will be a cash-only express line.

* Cash and credit cards will be accepted as payment for sticks. Checks will NOT be accepted.

* All money raised will go to Washington Capitals Charities.

* Specific player’s autographs are not guaranteed.

* Winners must meet at the community relations table behind section 104 immediately after the game.

Also, if some one wants to pick me up a RH stick or two tomorrow that be great. I'd go myself, but I already have plans w/ some friends for my birthday.

Fyi- These sticks are plain wooden sticks that are auto'ed. Nothing you would want to use. The ones they have done the last few years are basically $10 wooden sticks with the CAPS logo on them.

I believe you but it doesn't make sense to limit it to 2 sticks. The more the better, it all goes to charity.

Yeah, the only reason they limit the sticks is because a few years back, they didn't and the first 20-30 people in line bought them all. The rest of the line was p!ssed. They will sell them all, there is never a problem with that. Usually the sales, whether they are the signed pucks, sticks, or whatever are all gone by the start to the middle of the first period. Especially nowadays, the team is good and selling out the building, the frenzy for the Caps is finally pretty big in DC.

There's still hope that they are Drury curved :).

edit: Side note, anyone ever seen a Mike Green PS stick? No tape on the blade. Almost like he took skateboard's grip tape and slapped that on both sides of the blade. Very rough and gritty.
